Our seniors worked for Lampstand Ministries and Christ’s Vineyard CRC downtown Chicago. I shared this newsletter with them and wanted to do the same with you:
     “The Lord cares for our needs, doesn’t He!  Just read Matthew 6:25-34.  On March 31, the Lord Jesus provided Southwest MN Christian High School from Edgerton, Minnesota.  God has sent them to Lampstand to do service projects for the past seven years, as a part of their Senior Class Trip.   This year, the 30+ seniors tore off the leaky roof at Christ’s Vineyard CRC.  In 80 degree heat, they worked from 8:30am to 4:30pm tearing off 20yds of asphalt roof, replacing water damaged wood, screwing down 20 sheets or so of plywood, and sealing the seams.  They also organized clothing donations, the food pantry, and the tools/equipment.  What’s amazing also is that they cleaned up the food and dishes after lunch!  That is a ton of work!  They did a great job!  We’ve now tar sealed the plywood and put a huge tarp on the roof for protection until the Lord provides the new roof.   At the right time, we have no doubts that He will.”
     Great news.  They also shared with us that we did about $6,000 worth of work according to bids they had received.  This is a great opportunity for our students to be challenge, to grow, and to extend the love of Christ to others.
