No self-speak Week
Paul Bootsma 03/25/10 09:08 PM CST

No Self-speak Week
Following the challenges that AXIS gave us last week, the staff is reinforcing biblical principles that were brought up.  This week is no self-speak week.  We have encouraged students to take on the challenge to have a conversation where they talk about the other person, where they text for the sake of learning more about others, where they update a Facebook page only if it’s not about them, where they continue to grow in the understanding that it’s not about “me.” Rick Warren was right, after all, “It’s not about you.”

Check in with some questions:  How has no self-speak week gone?  What have your experiences been?  Is this easy to do?

The purpose of the Southwest Christian blog is to seek greater excellence in Christian education by informing, questioning, challenging, and being challenged.  Each day, Southwest as a school, its staff, its families, and its community are called to challenge students to grow in knowing, loving, and serving God and others.  This is our mission, our cultural transformation calling, our vision for the future. Thanks for reading and offering your feedback and comments.
