Besides the fundraising efforts of the school board for the general fund needs, including the annual donation sale (Carry the Light), the following areas are a great support of our students and school in general:

Circles/Parent Groups: All of our parents and other supporters are part of a circle/parent group. These groups hold individual fundraising events and also participate in our annual Fall and Spring Soup Suppers. The funds they raised support the school, students, and staff with the purchase of items outside of the general fund budget. Last year, they contributed over $45,000 in funds to purchase items for athletics, technology, school maintenance, and classroom needs.

STUDENTS: Hold an annual food and magazine fundraiser for their Senior class trip to Washington D.C. With the ability to raise funds over a four year period, many, if not all our students have been able to cover the cost of their trip in full through these fundraising efforts.

BUILDING FUND DRIVE: Each spring, soliciltors contact supports in order to raise funds for the building fund needs. In 2017, funds were raised for new bleachers and gym floor refinish. In 2018, funds were raised to remodel the kitchen with flooring and a few new small appliances.

FOUNDATION: Forefathers have established a Southwest MN Christian High School Foundation which contributes a yearly gift from interest earned on the principal balance to the general operating fund.

Our students are involved in the following:  Band, Baseball (boys), Basketball, Chapel, Cheerleading (girls), Choir, Cross Country, Drama, Golf, Leaders for Life, Prayer Share Group, Recreational P.E., Players (improv), Sequel (yearbook), Softball (girls), Statisticians/Managers, Student Government, Soccer (boys), Speech, Track, Trap Shooting, and Volleyball (girls).

Southwest MN Christian High is governed by a School Board. The board consists of constituents elected to 3 year terms of service. These constituents are nominated from various groups cooperating with the school. The entire society elects board members at the Annual Society Meeting. The School Board meets on the first Monday of every month. To see who is presently serving on the School Board click the School Board link in the previous window.

Southwest MN Christian High is accredited by MN Non-Public Non-Profit School Association (MNNSA). Our sports and speech programs are governed by the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL), we receive financial and legislative support from the Minnesota Independent School Foundation (MISF) to whom we pay membership fees, and we are members of Christian Schools International (CSI).

SWMCH participates in the MN School Lunch Program. We have 2 cooks on staff who prepare a hot, balanced meal everyday. The cost of each student meal is $2.90. Any family may apply for reduced price or free lunches. The meal is the same as all the other students but at a reduced price or free.
